Tips and advice for your e-scooter

Here you will find tips and advice on how to look after tyres, battery, brakes and other important parts to extend the life of your e-scooter.

Avoid water

Avoid water

Your e-scooter is water resistant, but that does not make it a submarine from an action movie. You can ride in the rain, but avoid it as far as possible. Dodge puddles as if they were mines — water eventually works its way into the motor and creates rust. So keep the scooter dry, avoid puddles and store it somewhere dry.

Keep the tyres inflated

Keep the tyres inflated

Keep the tyres inflated – at least 50 psi or 3.2 bar. Riding on soft tyres is like the scooter trying to outrun the bailiff with a fridge on its back. It is heavy going for both the motor and the battery, and the scooter will not put up with it forever. On top of that, the number one cause of punctures is under-inflated tyres. They wear against the rim.

Ride smooth

Ride smooth

You are riding an e-scooter, not a Formula 1 car. Even if it feels that way going downhill. Hitting the throttle as if you were fleeing your mum’s slipper and braking as if you were going for the shortest stopping distance on record will overload the scooter’s electrical components. You burn cables, motor, battery and motherboard. So ride calmly and brake gently.
